Diablo III is an RPG that has been a long time coming and as gamers eagerly await Blizzard to release this epic game, there hasn’t realy been anything to tide people over….Enter Torchlight. At first glance, the game looks to be very cartoony (similar to World of Warcraft), but the gameplay and action is very reminiscent of Diablo. Developed by Runic Games, it looks to be like Diablo, with some differences. You can choose one of three character classes (Destroyer, Alchemist and Vanquisher) and have pet companion (either a wolf dog or lynx).

The gameplay and action looks like any other action RPG whereby you furiously click to hack and slash monsters and you can cast spells, drink potions and collect treasure left behind. The biggest downside to the game is the fact that there is no online multiplayer…so you the player must adventure on their own (although I’ve heard that an online version is in the works). All in all, the game looks great and the requirements aren’t as steep as most modern PC games today.

So if you are into the fantasy action RPGs and Diablo III can’t come soon enough, I think Torchlight is a great option while you wait and at $20 USD, it definitely has great value too!
