I remember back in the day watching the original Clash of the Titans movie and thinking how cool the animation was, but by today’s standards it looks cheesy and downright amateurish. However, people need to take into account that it was probably THE first epic of it’s kinda back in that day…thus it helped to pioneer other movies for years to come. The new Clash for the Titans looks to pay hommage to that film and I honestly think it looks pretty good. Many people can’t help but compare it to the movie 300, with the Spartan “Immortal” soldiers. The action definitely looks good but it remains to be seen whether or not the movie will deliver on the actual characterization and storyline.

There seems to be a whole renaissance lately on Greek and Roman mythology, with the release of movies like 300, and games like God of War and Rise of the Argonauts. Perhaps legends and myths appeal to the masses more these days? Or perhaps we finally have the technology to do justice to a lot of these epic myths…I’m thinking both! =)
