So we’ve seen many people use different types of mods and hacks for Nintendo’s Wiimote to perform really cool things like headtracking and video whiteboard. This time around, Google decided to modify the usage of the Wii Balance Board to surf Google Earth. The video above was demonstrated at the recent Macworld 2009 Convention and it’s a really neat idea. The engineer who created the mod hopes that his open-source mod will help encourage others to design other neat apps for all these new peripherals. I’m just waiting for Nintendo to allow the simultaneous usage of the balance board and Wiimote to design some more virtual games that are more immersive.
