So with the upcoming November 1st release of Nintendo’s DSi handheld console, Many people are curious about the functionality and differences it has in comparison to the DS Lite. Though there is the obvious removal of the GBA slot, there are definitely huge upgrades such dual cameras, SD card slot and new interface. What is definitely interesting is the simple picture editing software that is included with the system. I’m sure kids will definitely get a kick out of taking pictures and editing them on the go.
On the downside, it’s mentioned that DSi specific software is region-locked, which means for those who are planning to import one from Japan, you might not be able to play with future DSi specific games for their region. Though the advent of buying a cool new Nintendo console is appealing, I’m thinking many existing DS users will pass on it and wait for the next generation handheld console.
