When choosing between the three next generation consoles, I decided on getting the Nintendo Wii and the Playstation 3. I got the Wii because of all the great multiplayer games and unique controls and then I got the Playstation 3 for the next generation graphics and Blu Ray player. That left the XBox 360 as the odd man out since I already owned 2 next gen systems and I didn’t see the need for a third.
As time went by, I started to have an interest in the XBox 360 since Microsoft was getting exclusive JRPG titles like Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery. When I was at the Fan Expo Convention and saw a sneak preview of Gears of War 2, I was amazed by the gorgeous graphics and gameplay. Lastly, what made me seriously consider the system was the announced price cut by Microsoft. The prices are $199 for the Arcade, $299 for the Pro and $399 for the Elite. I was concerned that maybe the cuts were exclusively in the U.S., but I’ve seen ads from Walmart, Futureshop and Toys R Us in Canada with the adjusted price points. With these prices and a great upcoming lineup of games, I can definitely see sales for the console grow. Hey, the console is even sold out in Japan as we speak! Definitely a brighter future for the XBox 360.
