So today was the last day of the Fan Expo Convention and we decided to arrive a little bit later since most of us were still kinda tired from the previous day. We got to the convention around noon and decided to make our way through the Dealers and trying to bargain for good deals. Generally speaking, most of the dealers at Conventions are more open when it comes to negotiating prices because many don’t wish to bring stuff back to their stores…so they’ll lower pricees. I decided on getting the entire Bone comic series by Jeff Smith in a single volume omnibus because I’ve heard great reviews on the series and it was a great deal at $40 (taxes included).
Afterwards, Nathan and I decided to line-up for the Q & A session with Battlestar Galactica Edward James Olmos (who plays Admiral William Adama). It was DEFINITELY a worthwhile panel since Mr. Olmos was funny and entertaining…and his co-star Aaron Douglas (who plays Chief Galen Tyrol) joined in on the panel and was definitely interesting with his anecdotes and stories about their experiences on the set of BSG. Though it’s sad that the series is quickly coming to a conclusion, it’s also great to learn that it’s ending with a bang.
After taking a couple of more photos and playing a bit of Soul Calibur IV in the gaming session, it definitely was time to head home and conclude another year at the Fan Expo Convention. Though there was an absense of Japanese special guests, it was all in all a great convention. One of my friends is trying to convince me to perhaps Cosplay next year as a group…I guess it’ll remain to be seen till next year.
