Like I mentioned previously that it was about time that the Apple iPhone had officially came to Canada. No longer are we considered “second-class” citizens to the Americans in the eyes of Apple Inc. Though with all this good news, there has been some apprehension regarding the purchase of the upcoming iPhone amongst Canadian users. The problem being is that the official carrier in Canada, Rogers Wireless, haven’t officially mentioned a data and voice plan for the new iPhone. Currently, the data/voice plans available through Rogers are extremely high priced, and offer no unlimited usage.

However, in recent days, there has been a buzz about a rumoured $30 unlimited data plan going around the net and if the rumours are true, I’m almost certainly convinced to upgrade from my current first gen iPhone. Though my phone plan would most likely total almost $90/month, the possibility of unlimited 3G websurfing anytime, anywhere is extremely exciting. Right now, I can barely surf on my iPhone because I’m limited to surfing while at wifi hotspots. With the introduction of an unlimited data plan, I can fully utilize all the capabilities that Apple meant for users to have on their iPhone.

But like I mentioned, it’s only a rumour thus far and until Rogers officially announces their price plans, people like myself can only hope and dream that it’ll come true.
