So I’m guessing most of you are probably planning on heading to the theatre after work (or ditching work altogether) to watch the much anticipated forth installment in the Indiana Jones series. I’ve definitely been excited about watching this film since I’ve seen the original trilogy countless times and could often quote lines from the movie.
This time around, we see that Indiana (Harrison Ford) has definitely aged significantly since the last time he donned the fedora and whip, but I honestly get goosebumps when I hear the theme song. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia and just being able to relive your childhood once again. I’m started to realize my age when my younger cousins weren’t born when the third installment came out…and have NEVER seen the movies! I’m thinking that this movie won’t sell as well to the younger generation since we are in the age of CGI, realistic animation and digital video/sound. Plus the hero isn’t some superhuman like Spiderman, Superman or Ironman…Indiana is just an archaeologist and (part-time) teacher.
I’ve attempted to avoid as many reviews of the movie as possible in order not to spoil the film for me but early impressions have told me that it’s exactly what you expect from an “Indiana Jones” film. But honestly, even if the movie sucked big-time, I’d still go BECAUSE it is Indiana Jones. My uncle who is a big fan of the series also has the same sentiments as well. Since we’ve all witnessed the adventures of Dr. Jones from the beginning, it’s only appropriate that we see the conclusion. The question is no longer “IF” I will watch Indiana Jones 4, but rather “WHEN” and “HOW MANY” time I’m planning to watch it instead..=) Anyhow, time to go buy my tickets and see Indiana Jones’ last adventure.
