It looks as though retro console systems are all the rage these days as more and more projects seem to involve systems like the Classic NES. I was checking out different cool creations when I stumbled upon a site/blog called Ultra Awesome. The creator, Kyle Downes, had recently finished a neat project in creating a coffee table shaped like an old NES controller. What was cool is that the top opens up and you can store your games, systems etc. What I didn’t realize was that there was an additional cool function to the project:

That’s right! It’s a fully functional NES controller! It was definitely neat that Kyle took the time to do the electronics to allow him to use his coffee table to play his games like Super Mario Brothers 3. I’m wondering if this’ll inspire other fans to go out and build their own (Kyle provides instructions on how he went about building his table), or perhaps other people will start building their own oversized, workable controllers? Though it may no be wise to make a huge wiimote…in fear that people may punch a wall in their house…lol.
