With only a couple of days left before the April 29th North American release date of Grand Theft Auto IV, it looks as though the game has already been leaked and is freely available on the Internet. The game seems to have appeared on many Bittorrent sites and has been released by a group called iCON. Though many XBox360 gamers are rejoicing, it is apparently a PAL only release and cannot be played on modded NTSC North American consoles.

What I found interesting is that the game is only 6.32 GB in total, which means it’s well within the size limits of dual-layered DVDs. I’m wondering if the Sony PS3 version is just about the same size or else it’ll be a pretty sparse BluRay disc. I think piraters should take note that Microsoft will be cracking down on people who have the game early on their systems (mostly for those who would be dumb enough to play this online prior to the official release date).

Seeing as though I don’t have a modded XBox 360 (or even an XBox 360 at all), I’ll have to be content with waiting till my GTA IV Special Edition preorder comes in for the PS3. In the meantime, I guess I’ll occupy myself with watching some of the video footage online. I can hardly wait!
