Last year was the start of the Naruto Shippuuden (Hurricane Chronicles) television series and the release of the fourth feature length film. Though I haven’t had the chance to watch the last film, TV-Tokyo recently released a new trailer on their website showing the upcoming Naruto film being released in Japanese theatres on August 2nd, 2008. Check out the trailer below:

The film will be the second movie from the Shippuuden series and is entitled, “Naruto Shippuuden: Kizuna” (Bonds). It appears to show either a conflict or team-up between the two main characters, Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke after the time skip. This has sort of left me confused since I’m fairly up-to-date with the manga and don’t recall any co-op situations between Naruto and Sasuke after the timeskip. My guess is that the movie is again “filler” and moves away from the canon storyline. Aside from what has been shown, I am not certain what the plotline is about exactly, but I can definitely see that the animation quality is excellent (too bad they can’t keep this quality up for the ACTUAL show!). I personally think that Kishimoto should consider making a movie about the Kakashi Gaiden and show his origins as well as Yondaime (Forth Hokage). That to me would make me excited to watch a Naruto movie.
