It looks as though after months of waiting and delays, the fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica is going to premier on Friday, April 4th, 2008. At the end of the last season, we were left with a huge revelation and cliffhanger which was totally unexpected (I won’t mention it for those who have yet to reach that far), hopefully that’ll be answered and resolved by series end. Though the studio released a made for television movie, Battlestar Galactica: Razor, it didn’t satiate our desire for more Galactica.
Apparently, after the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) strike, the writer’s had decided to re-write the ENTIRE second half of the fourth season. At a recent press conference, producer Ron Moore mentions about the re-writing of the last season:
“The writers had worked out what the arc in the back half [of the fourth season] was already… I think [the strike] actually benefited the show in some ways in that… we started to think about things that we could change, things we could make better. And when the strike was over… we wrote the second half of the season all over again.”
As well, when actor Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Odama) was asked about how the series will end, he had these words:
“It’s devastating… don’t watch this program; it’s not an easy ride.”
I don’t know if what he meant was a joke, or in fact if it’ll be a tragic ending. Either way, I can hardly wait! SO SAY WE ALL!!
