If you are like me, you’ve probably have tried playing those popular guitar games like Guitar Hero and/or Rockband and have become completely addicted to them. Recently, a person by the name of Toni Westbrook had made his very own port of the popular Guitar Hero game for the classic Commodore 64. Now many gamers today might have been too young to enjoy the good old C64, but it was arguably the best gaming system in it’s time. With some programming, and modifications to hook a guitar controller to the C64, Guitar Hero (or known as Shredz 64) was finally realized on the old 8-bit system. Check it out here:
As you can see, even though the technology of the C64 is primitive and grossly obsolete by today’s standards, it’s pretty neat to see and hear the game in action…which quite frankly is pretty good! It’s also nostalgic to older gamers as it reminds them of their youth…when games seemed to be more fun and original. I definitely hope to see more retro ports of current games.
