Recently, it seems as though Konami and Kojima Productions have finally announced the released date to the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4 title for the Playstation 3. Right now, it is scheduled to be released on June 12th, 2008, which is odd since it’ll arrive on a Thursday. Though I’m ecstatic about the possibility of MGS4 to come out sooner than I expected, I’m skeptical that Kojima will be able to keep his promise since Metal Gear had been delayed once already. Also, to coincide with the release date, Sony also annouced that in the late 2nd quarter, Sony will be offering a hardware bundle which features Metal Gear Solid 4, 80GB Playstation 3 and the introduction of the DualShock 3 packed in. The whole package will have an MSRP of $499 and finally Playstation 3 owners will get the rumble function back in the DualShock 3.
This is definitely great news for people like me who were planning on buying a Playstation 3 console for THIS game…now I can get it all in one package! Also, because of the fact that Blu-Ray has finally won the format wars, it’s definitely a good investment for the future!
