Well, we are almost nearing the end of 2007 and the new year is almost upon us. Recently, Yahoo Japan held a poll to determine what Japanese fans felt were the “Best anime of 2007″. Over 2 million Japanese anime fans. The top 10 anime titles voted were the following:

1) Sola
2) Lucky Star
3) Katei Kyoshi Hitman Reborn
4) Ookiku Furi Kabutte
5) Higurashi
6) Gintama
7) Nanoha StrikerS
8) Nanatsuiro Drops
9) Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
10) Hidamari Sketch

Apparently out of the 2 millions votes, (from the top 3) Sola received 340,000 votes, Lucky Star received 160,000 votes and Katei Kyoshi Hitman Reborn received 130,000 votes. Out of the above top 10 list, I’ve only watched ONE (Sola) and I agree that it was a pretty good anime.

As for the rest, I can’t really make an assessment on since I haven’t watched them, however, I’m surprised that some of my favourites were omitted. I think I would’ve included shows like Teppen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Claymore, Clannad, Myself; Yourself, Murder Princess and even the new Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Anyhow, perhaps I should give the rest of the top 10 list a gander and then take it from there.
