I trust that everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday and hopefully all the good little boys and girls got the gifts they were looking for from Santa Claus. If not, then today is the day to go bargain hunting and buy the gift you were hoping to get. For those who are unaware, today is Boxing Day here in Canada and it’s the equivalent to the American “Black Friday”, whereby retailers discount their goods in order to clear stock and to hopefully make a profit.
Traditionally, people are lined-up at electronic and clothing stores the night before or earlier this morning in order to take advantage of the limited “door crashers” and to get first dibs at the hot deals. However, today in the Internet age, people can wait in a queue in the comfort of their own homes. I still remember back in the day waking up in the wee hours of the morning and shivering in the cold to buy stuff I wanted. Also, in order to ease Boxing Day chaos, stores have also extended discount lengths and have created “Boxing Week Sales”. For those unsure of what great deals there are, check out these online flyers:
-Dell Canada
-Futureshop
-BestBuy Canada
-Staples Canada
-NCIX
These and other deals can be found on the popular Canadian deal site RedFlagDeals.com. Remember to go early, dress warmly and try to avoid impulse purchases. Take care and again have a Great Boxing Day!
