As I had mentioned in this article, it was leaked that Nintendo was planning on releasing another redesign of the Nintendo DS. With the news, fans have been eagerly anticipating news on the handheld console because no one has an idea of how it’s going to look. There has been speculation that the GBA slot will be removed (to slimdown the unit further) as well as more enhanced wifi capabalities. Well a person by the name of Nick Lowe (with animation by Gaffyh) had created his own idea of what the new Nintendo DS should look like:

As you can see, Nick has decided to call the concept the “Nintendo DS Compact Lite” and I definitely think the concept is great! With the handheld being collapsable, it will allow the system to be easily stored in a person’s pocket (much like how the Gameboy Advance SP was). The system does look sleek and I definitely like how the top screen is thin and the trigger buttons are repositioned on the back for better comfort. I never realized all the great concepts that the Nintendo community has for the popular game system. I definitely think that if and when Nintendo creates another console, they should start a contest and get fan submissions for the system…that would truly be a dream come true for Nintendo fans.
