This coming new year, Revoltech will be debuting their new line of female anime figures called “Fraulein” (means “little woman” in German and is used to address young girls). As I mentioned, the entire line will be devoted to female figures, starting with our favourite character from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Rei Ayanami.

The figures will be utilizing Kaiyodo’s new “E.L.F.” system (I have no clue what E.L.F. stands for), which comprises of more “feminine” body parts and an articulation system which hides the exposure of some of the joints, while creating more “natural” human poses.
As you can see, what really attract collectors, hobbyists and fans to the Revoltech line is the poseability of the figures and the Fraulein figures deliver that pretty well. Though the Rei Ayanami figure is the first figured scheduled for release, it looks as though a Asuka Langley-Soyeuse figure and Tohsaka Rin figure aren’t far behind.

Right now, you can already preorder the Fraulein Revoltech Rei figure on many import figure hobby sites and the MSRP is about $23.00 USD. The date for release looks like January 1st, 2008 while Tohsaka Rin is released in February 2008 and Asuka Langley-Soyeuse in March 2008.
