Some of you might have remembered a little while back when Sony dabbled in robotics like the AIBO (robotic dog) and the QRIO (robotic humanoid). However, due to financial constraints, Sony decided to discontinue the develop of the products. Recently, revealed the following video of a new product called the Rolly:

Upon closer inspection, the Rolly appears to be a cross between a digital audio player and a dancing robot. It is suggested that the “egg-shaped” robot lights up and moves around according to the beat of music since we don’t see anyone using a remote control. It’s definitely a unique and innovative product and if Sony markets it right, it be THE next big thing. I personally think it looks neat! I can picture people bringing their Rolly’s to a club and showing of its “techno” moves. I guess we’ll have to wait for more details as they come out.
