I’m sure that everyone on this Earth has one time or another, have seen or know about The Simpsons. The lovable animated family which we’ve grown to love for over 20 years. During that period of time, there had been talk about a full featured movie and nothing ever materialized…until now! The Simpsons Movie premieres worldwide on Friday, July 27th, 2007 and I’m sure millions upon millions of fans are anxiously anticipating this film. I know that I’ve grown up watching the Simpsons when I was a child and I still watch it to this day! I can’t help but think how the Simpsons have shaped our way of thinking, from Homer’s famous “D’OH!” to the satiring of our modern society…the Simpsons are possibly the greatest influence in our generation today.

Sure it seems as though it’s a mere cartoon, but the stereotypes they portray and the messages they convey are actually so true! I still remember back when I was in highschool, my English teacher told us that if people in the far, distant future were to watch one television show which best represented our “forgotten” society of today, which show would that be? To our amazement, many sociological experts (I think) actually thought that The Simpsons would be the best choice. Who could blame them? I know a few of my friends whom watch The Simpsons religiously and can recite the dialogue from whole episodes by memory. At the time of this writing, the Simpsons are currently the longest running American sitcom and animated cartoon with the airing of its 19th season this coming fall. Though I still watch the Simpsons, I don’t really feel as enthusiastic about the new episodes these days, it sometimes seems the writers are running out of material and they are just dragging it on. I guess if and when The Simpsons air their series finale, I’ll start to miss it…but until then, I have other shows like Family Guy and possibly another season of Futurama to entertain me.

Anyhow, for all you Simpson’s fans, you can go visit the official Simpsons movie website and be treated to different interesting features like creating your own custom Simpsons character! Also, here’s a nice little preview of the movie to whet your appetite!

Also, the popularity of the show plus the anticipation of the new movie has brought about the modification of seventeen 7-11 convenience stores into Kwik-E Marts (including authentic products too!)…just watch!
