Metal Gear Solid is arguably one of the greatest video game franchises produced by Konami. The creator, Hideo Kojima, has always produced an epic storyline which totally immerses the player into his reality. With conspiracy theories, weapons of mass destruction, a colourful array of characters and the threat of global destruction, it is up to you, to once again save the world as Solid Snake. I have had the opportunity to play the first 3 installments of the series on the Sony Playstation and Sony Playstation 2. Now, Kojima is finally ending this phenomenal series on the Playstation 3 with the upcoming title, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

When I first saw the screenshots of the game, I was immediately blown away with the beautiful graphics and the attention to detail that Konami had taken to make the finale spectacular. This time around, it looks as though Snake has aged considerably since our last encounter in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty…perhaps due to his rapid aging process. Again, you and a few comrades seemed to be pitted against an entire army to reach your objective: Kill Liquid Snake. Though I had been excited about the prospect of this game coming out, I was worried that with all the high expectations, that it may end up being a huge letdown. However, after seening the following videos, many of my fears were unfounded. The following demonstration was shown during the 20th Anniversary Celebratation of the Metal Gear franchise in Tokyo, Japan. Hideo Kojima is demonstrating all the new abilities, graphics and environments that people will experience when they purchase the game.

I can hardly wait until this game hits the shelves and in which time I’ll probably buy my Playstation 3!
